First French dictionary of pornography

The Presses Universitaires de France have published the Dictionnaire de la pornographie, a dictionary with 580 pages containing about 450 entries about pornography. The book covers mostly “mainstream” pornography.

The preface of the dictionary quotes Steven Marcus “la pornographie caractérise un point de vue et non une chose” – pornography characterizes a point of view and not a thing, i.e. (the term) pornography is subjective and not objective. A very good yet insufficient definition of pornography in my opinion.
