As I said above:

Remove Safari 3 Beta with its own Uninstaller application (it’s included in the Safari 3 Beta download, get it again if you don’t have it anymore)

Download Safari 3 Beta, mount the DMG file, run the included Uninstaller, then proceed as described above.

i am having hard time uninstalling safari 3.. trying to figure it out, but cant.. any ideas? instructions?
